The Summit Concert Band is community based group focused on providing quality entertainment at events throughout Summit County and the mountain region.  Our musicians are all volunteers and of varying ability levels.  Members come from Summit and the surrounding counties.  Since we are a resort community, we always welcome visiting musicians.

The Summit Concert Band was formed in 1982 when a hearty group of locals climbed on a flat bed truck to play in the Breckenridge Ullrfest Parade.  Over the years the band has grown in size, become an official 501c3 charitable organization, expanded our performance schedule and fostered other performing groups.  The band promoted the development of the Summit Chamber Orchestra and many members play in both groups.  Recently, the Blue River Brass was created to provide a smaller group for more intimate venues.

The band has had a long and beneficial relationship with the Summit High School instrumental music program.  Besides rehearsing in the band room, the band makes its extensive music library available for their use.  Additionally, the Summit Concert Band has been able to obtain grants to purchase percussion instruments for the Summit High School program.  Several students have performed with the band over the years expanding their musicianship and professionalism as a result.
